Is it just me?

Postby Lyudmila » Sat Dec 09, 2017 8:41 pm

I often hear people do cross stitch, embroidery, crochetting and knitting, etc. and all this- with the same enthusiasm.

In my life all these go in stripes. I mean at some point I knitted, then crochetted, then stitched. Never all the the same time. That is when I cross stitch, I dont have or dont use any other crafts stash as I cant one minute be stitching and the other- take the needles and knit. Is it just me?

Ok...I'm stitching...need a break so I crochet a hat or two...just donated 18 hats to a Cancer Clinic for chemo patients....Then I stitch...and am now crocheting wee owls & gnomes for kids who may spend Christmas at a Woman's or other shelter. I guess if I need a break from stitching for any reason , I change craft...then get back to the stitching project.. I never gave this much thought before as I do most crafts and fit whatever projects in whenever I can as as I stitch more than the usually do the others, to me this is just how I do it. WH_:{
I guess that is why we are all unique in what & how we do things. If we were all the same...it would just be boring...so as they say different strokes for different folks...and it's all Good. Gi{{

Stitching is my favorite, but I also love making afghans too so I chop & change between the two. also have a rug kit on the go as well but that seems to be left on the back burner more then being worked on. WH_:{

I love cross stitch, I really do, and for quite a while I cross stitched for about 9 months out of the year. I don't do that much anymore. Why? I have run out of places to put things. Almost all my walls are full and I have well over 100 pieces that need to be framed. I do stitch for exchanges and I just made Kustom Kraft's Little Snap Dragon for myself but while I was working on it I also knitted a hat/scarf/mitten set that I had to design the cabled bunny rabbit for as well as crocheted other items for my older (3 1/2 yrs) GGD. She asked me to MAKE her animals for her little farm, even picked out the yarn for 2 ponies (pink and purple!) I just made a turtle and have to put together a monkey. When she was over a few days ago she asked for a dragon to protect her little castle, I found just the right pattern on Ravelry. All this plus her mom decided that it would be great if I re-started my old custom of making each person an ornament each year. It's a good thing I'm retired!
