That design you never start

Postby stitchcrazy » Mon Nov 06, 2017 4:42 pm

Do you have a design that you have wanted to do for a while but for some reason never get around to? Maybe one that you already have somewhere, in a leaflet or your computer, and since you already have a stash full of fabric and floss it would cost $0? When you have one of those rare moments of "okay, I'm finished with everything, what's next" you completely forget about it until you have other things going that must be done.
I have been wanting to do Little Snap dragon, from Kustom Kraft, for years and I have the chart. BUT, now I need to stitch my exchange ornament and I'm knitting a custom hat, mitten, scarf set for GGD who has also requested two new crocheted ponies for her farm (pink and purple, I let her pick the yarn). Plus Saturday night my GD informed me that the twins heads won't fit in the hats that I made for their sister so they need new ones PLUS now that they have moved out of the apartment and into a house they can put things on the walls so some day she will come over and look through my Disney/CMB/Looney Toons books.
Maybe next decade....

Your question caught me by surprise as I never counted THOSE designs. I have an enormous box of a dozen of books of files with 200 charts each, and among them one book of files contains only those I am really going to stitch. Plus a dozen of books by designers with charts too.

But if we mean one and only design which we keep wanting and never come to stitching, it is a new "Britain" tablecloth- this time I have so many great charts that I cant decide on the order in which they will be stitched.

Yes, that is what I was talking about. That one, or more design that you really want to make for yourself but just never start.
I actually remembered why I haven't started mine, I want to do it and it's companion piece, Little Daisy Dragon but I have no intention of paying $15 for the chart. I had been looking for it on eBay for a while but finally gave up. They are Kustom Kraft designs and I know that 123Stitch has them but I would just as soon find a used chart.

Sounds like a plan. Maybe we could prod each other along.
I have been making great strides in my to-do list. I have my ornament stitched, just need to finish it, hat/mitten/scarf set is finished, along with an extra set of mittens, and 2 new ponies for ggd's farm. I am working on a poncho I'm actually doing for myself, that should be done tomorrow if we don't go out anywhere. I will look for the fabric for Little Snap Dragon when I'm looking for the backing fabric for my ornament.
I do need to make a set of hats for the twins, I'm thinking about a pattern I have for "Thing 1 and Thing 2" since I have the right yarn and that was the theme of their baby shower. I can get those done in a day though so hopefully I can start stitching by Monday.

Liz - I have located the "Little Snap Dragon "and the other one I have which is "Naptime Dragon"
It is a dragon sleeping on what I think are purple cone flowers . Is this the companion piece you are looking for. If so it will be yours if I can get it stitched !
