Your favourite season in stitching

Postby Lyudmila » Sat Sep 30, 2017 6:34 pm

Does your favourite season coinside with the one you like to stitch? :)]

I hate autumn and early winter for their being dark, cold, windy, miserable for most of the time(my favourite is late spring).

But I adore stitching autumn with its golden leaves, indian summer's bright sun, mushrooms, asters, and of course, pumpkins!

I also cant have enough of Christmas city streets and villages. What about you?

Like you, I don't like the cold and the short daylight, so with the coming of Fall means the coming of cold weather. I don't really have a favourite season, but I mostly enjoy stitching Christmas designs. I guess that means since Christmas is in the cold months (for most of us I would think), to answer your question, "season coincide with stitching likes", I'd probably have to say no.

Ok , here goes. Because of the exchanges I've done over time I stitch year around for all the holiday 's that we have. I am not fond of winter...but love Christmas. Halloween is usually cold & dreary here but I like stitching the designs offered and I buy both the Christmas Ornament & Halloween Ornament magazines...I love autumn for all the reasons Lyudmila mentioned. Spring and Summer is a nice time to sit outdoors and listen to the birds and smell the flowers and enjoy a tall glass of iced tea. I stitch mostly small designs. Love ornaments...biscornu etc. I rarely attempt large complex scenic designs as I find them not much fun for me to do as my impaired vision makes it too difficult to enjoy stitching them. I could likely grid a large design & stitch it but so far I guess I just am not motivated to give it a try. So as posted earlier I stitch daily and whatever suits my fancy at the time....
So I guess you could say I just stitch whenever I wont... WH_:{ Gi{{

Don't like the heat and humidity of summer nor the wet and windy of winter and autumn but like the rest of the times of all seasons . Just had a nasty squall go past us and the temperature has dropped considerably have got the fire going again after 10 days out.

I don't like the heat & humidity either, heat brings on my migraines, so tend to stay inside as much as I can during the summer months. But I do like Fall & Winter to go out and clear the snow of the driveway (snow blower) Gi{{ then go inside and have a cup of hot cocoa to warm up, or just to sit inside and watch the snow fall.

So my favorite things to stitch would be Christmas & Fall pictures. @};-

I stitch year round. I seems I get more done in the fall and winter months. Not much stitching at all in the spring.

OOP:} Sorry for my foreign English. Gi{{ The question was supposed to sound as follows:

What is your favourite season (weather, nature, etc)? What season do you like to stitch (pictures showing what season do you prefer to stitch)? :)]

My favorite season is late fall, after all the leaves are down and I have mowed them into mulch. I love Halloween and have stitched many Halloween pieces.
I don't do landscapes so there is no other seasonal theme to my pieces other than a couple of Christmas designs I did years ago.

Liz, I want you to know, that of all stitchings I have seen (and I am not sweet 16 never kissed, so did see a couple of thousands of decent cross stitched pictures I think), your works impressed me most of all. It's nearly a year since I last saw those pictures on EMS board, but they are still before my mind's eyes. I am missing those pictures. They looked to me like when one comes to an art museum- one looks at the pieces of art and cant have enough of looking. Thank you for sharing all that beauty. People like you do make this world more attractive for living. Happy stitching!
