Are you ready for Christmas/ New Year?

Postby Lyudmila » Sun Sep 24, 2017 4:59 am

I have just seen the September issue of Cross Stitch Gold and fell in love with the poinsettia by Amanda Gregory and Maria Diaz's "Victorian Christmas Scene" which in my mind I have already called "St. Albans".
As you know, I am finishing Merejka's "Christmas Night", now the magazine will arrive in my PO box in a week or so, and I suspect I will start on those two designs at once. The scene will go perfectly well with the "Christmas Night" and "Victorian Christmas " by Sandy Littlejohns which I stitched a couple of years ago.

This year I'll stitch ornaments . I usually make one for each member of my family. I stitched a Christmas Sampler last year and should get it out and frame it. I also have a Snowman Sampler I should work on finishing..Too many things to stitch and never enough time.. WH_:{

You sound busy, Bea. I forgot completely that I have bought two plastic foam (is it the word for that weightless stuff ?) balls to make stitched ornaments I saw many people here make using traditional Ukrainian patterns.

I don't really make Christmas cards, too many people that I know, if you make for one, then everyone else expects one, so to stay out of trouble I don't bother! THU{}

The only cross stitching I do for the holidays any more is an ornament for each of the grandchildren and great-granddaughters. Five ornaments go pretty quickly. I have finished all the knit/crochet presents for Christmas, March birthday (GGD will be 4), and almost finished with May birthdays (twin GGDs will be 1).
I figure I need to make as much as I can as soon as I can because no one knows what might happen.

Hi, I actually bought 6 books for friends grans, and my great nieces and nephews. No grans of my own so I do like to get these kiddos something. Last year I stitched ornaments of favourite characters for them. I may try that again next year! I've gotten out my Autumn/Halloween stitchings though and will enjoy them until about 14th of Nov, then out comes all my Christmas stitches! I 'm working on Lizzie Kate Jungles in an oblong design instead of lengthwise which is interesting, and also the winter scene of Victoria Era.
Happy Stitching! :)
