Is there a color you don't use much?

Postby stitchcrazy » Tue Nov 14, 2017 9:02 pm

I was looking through my finished pieces and realized that the only pieces I have used orange on are a pair of autumn designs and a small amount on my Halloween pieces. orange is not a color I really care for but I don't go out of my way to avoid stitching with it.

I think pink seems to be a colour I seldom use

I like color! Period! However, I am not fond of grayed out colors, specifically gray-greens (like sage, avocado, or Army greens). I tend to avoid dull colors just because they look so dull. I'll use them, as needed, for shadings but I would prefer not to bother with those kind of yucky colors. (*)
There's no such thing as a stupid question!

As I already must have said, I stitch as the designer chose, not changing anything. But I am extremely picky while choosing the next project. So I would not stitch on dark fabric not only because it is hard on my eyes, but because I dont like black, dark grey, etc. as backgrounds.

I had a festival of colours when I was stitching Merejka's "Christmas Night"- it was as bright as a gypsy's skirt!.
To be honest, I have nothing against any colour as long as there is not too much of it.

If a design calls for a specific colour, I will stitch with that colour. Like Dragonlair, I'm not fond of the dull, blah, colours, but they do well, in moderation, for shading or highlighting.
